HTC Tattoo, was present to provide new levels of customization to physical devices and their interfaces, for the full personalize and priced cheaper than the previous Android device, in an effort to appear in the broader market. HTC Tattoo offers 7 screen that can be customized and a lot of widgets, also use the cover that can be changed to give a new look of the HTC Tattoo. Parties HTC revealed that users will be able to design and purchase their unique cover or look for and choose from a popular design.

HTC Tattoo also uses Qualcomm 528MHz processor, which are vulnerable to slow down the performance of the phone if the overload. HTC Smartphone Tattoo has a size of 2.8-inch touchscreen display, 240 x 320 pixel resolution, which looked smaller when compared to Hero 3.2-inch screen size with 320 x 480 pixels. HTC Tattoo is also equipped with a trackball which is also used in the previous Android phone, replacing the 4 button navigation control with a button in the middle.
